A free community event supported by the Guinness Dublin 8 Community Fund
ID8 Studio, The Digital Depot, Roe Lane, Dublin 8
Wednesday 22 July | 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Free event – registration required
Join us for an evening of swapping, storytelling and community connection centred around fashion, textile waste and practical climate action.
Before the event, bring along one item of clothing that holds a special memory or meaning. On arrival, you'll receive a story tag to write a few words about your garment and attach it to the item.
We'll then gather together for a quick round of introductions, with anyone who wishes invited to share the story behind their clothing. Stories might be funny, sentimental, practical or unexpected – a favourite jumper that's lasted 20 years, a jacket found in a charity shop, a dress handed down through generations or a garment that's been repaired time and again.
It's a simple way to celebrate the memories, creativity and connections our clothes hold before we move into the community clothing swap.
Browse a large, shop-style clothing swap and refresh your wardrobe without buying new. Bring along clean, good-quality pre-loved clothes to exchange for new-to-you pieces in a welcoming, accessible and social environment.
Expect great clothes, great conversations and plenty of community spirit.
