The Repair Relay: Mending in Motion

The Repair Relay is a playful, collaborative event where creativity and sustainability come together. Across the afternoon and evening, participants take turns repairing, patching, and embellishing garments - each person picking up where the last left off. The result? Clothes transformed into unique, layered creations that tell a collective story.
This free, drop-in workshop is open to all ages and abilities. Whether you’ve never threaded a needle or you’re a seasoned maker, our facilitators will guide you through simple stitching, decorative touches, and inventive repair techniques. You can bring your own item to work on, or add your mark to one of the garments we provide.
By the end of the day, we’ll showcase the finished pieces - one-of-a-kind, collaborative works of wearable art that prove repair is both joyful and social. At any time, 6–8 people can be actively stitching, with 15–30 minute sessions making space for 80–120 participants throughout the day. Many more will join as spectators, watching the transformation unfold and discovering the principles of repair.
The Repair Relay is about connection as much as craft. Come stitch, share, and pass it on.
