This Culture Night, we’re teaming up with @dublinstoryslam and their storytelling and skill-sharing project City Stories to bring you Story Threads - an evening of free drop-in workshops and a special storytelling event.
Part of what makes our clothes so treasured is the meaning and memory woven into them. That jacket you wore on your first summer in the city, the t-shirt from your first date, or the dress passed on from another lifetime. We’ve all got something in our wardrobe that means far more than the fabric it’s made from.
Story Threads is about reconnecting with those pieces - through repairing what we wear and sharing the stories stitched into them. So bring along your favourite jumper with a tear, that old coat missing a button, or those trousers with the broken zip. Learn how to give them new life, and maybe share the story behind them too.
