Free Monthly Drop-In Sessions (Oct 2025 – Mar 2026)
Want to share the joy of repairing and upcycling clothes with young people? Join us for six free, drop-in Train the Trainer sessions funded by the Edmund Rice Trust. Each month we’ll cover a different repair or upcycling skill, along with tips on how to teach it to others. Come to one session or all six - it’s up to you!
👥 Who it’s for: Youth workers, educators, community leaders, and anyone who wants to teach repair & upcycling skills.
💸 Cost: Free (funded by the Edmund Rice Trust).

October 13th 2025 – Introduction to Teaching Repair: Hand sewing basics, visible mending, and engaging young people in first-time repair.
November 10th 2025 – Machine Sewing & Simple Fixes: How to set up and use sewing machines safely with groups; repairing seams, hems, and basics.
December 15th 2025 – Creative Upcycling: Turning old clothes into new pieces: patchwork, embellishment, and creative design ideas.
January 12th 2026 – Teaching Tailoring Skills: Simple alterations: taking in/letting out, shortening, and adapting clothes for better fit.
February 16th 2026 – New Product Development from Scrap Textiles: Teaching how to transform textile waste into tote bags, accessories, and more.
March 16th 2026 – Running Your Own Workshops: Practical facilitation tips, structuring sessions, and building confidence in young learners.
