MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting

Learn how to make beautiful, durable, washable quilts from scrap materials, from scratch!

This course is suitable for complete beginners. 

You will need to bring along your own sewing machine.

All other materials will be supplied but do bring along any fabrics you'd like to include in your quilt.

WEEK 1: Tuesday April 16th

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Sewing machine demos
• Fabric exploration - discussing suitability of certain fabrics
• Joining fabrics

WEEK 2: Tuesday April 23rd

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Play with making quilt shapes, patterns
•  Learn how to put them together
• The mathematics of planning a quilt.

WEEK 3: Tuesday April 30th

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Play with making quilt shapes, patterns
• Learn how to put them together
• The mathematics of planning a quilt.

WEEK 4: Tuesday May 7th

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Make some samples with learned techniques

WEEK 5: Tuesday April 14th

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Work on samples
• Discuss quilting machine/Hand sewing techniques techniques

WEEK 6: Tuesday May 21st

MACHINE SEWING: Pratical Patchwork Quilting - 8.00-9.00pm

• Keep working on samples
• How to finish the edges
