LEARN WITH OXFAM IRELAND: CLIMATE JUSTICE

An interactive workshop with Oxfam Ireland on their 7% campaign and how we can all work together in this fight for climate justice.

The government has set a target for itself to see 7% emissions cut each year and we are still not meeting this target. We have set a narrow focus on the government climate policy (a 7% emission cut per annum) and work with the power of grassroots to demand it and at the least identify it.

The only time we have seen the simple of target of the 7% emissions cut been brought up in the Oireachtas has mostly been prompted by us and its only been a handful of times. Working together we can put pressure on the government, bring parliamentary questions to politicians so the question “why are we not meeting our 7% emissions cuts each year?” can be asked, and we can get action to reach this goal set out by the government themselves.

The workshop that we will be holding will go into detail the 7% campaign, why we need to hold our government accountable, putting pressure on government, how we can stick together in achieving this goal, how we can make this campaign an election issue.
